TAINTER GATE WITH APPROACH SYSTEM® FOR BOTTOM OUTLETS

Radial Tainter gates for bottom outlets or 4-side sealing gates are for regulating large flows in bottom outlets Tainter gates for bottom outlets are made up of the same main elements as their 3-side sealing counterparts.
INHISA HIDRÁULICA S.A. has successfully developed, patented and installed “Tainter gates with approach system for bottom outlets®” that offer a series of advantages over the traditional “Tainter” gates for bottom outlets (with no approach mechanism).
“Tainter with approach system®” gates open and close in two stages: The horizontal displacement (approach) and vertical displacement (opening and closing) movements enable the skin plate to open and close without rubbing against the rubber seals.
The innovative horizontal approach movement has been achieved by developing a shaft and connecting rod for approach, driven by a small hydraulic cylinder.
The innovative horizontal approach movement has been achieved by developing an axis and an approaching rod actuated by a small oleohydraulic cylinder.

Main advantages of “Tainter with approach system®” gates
- Closure under own weight: Elimination of rubbing against the rubber seals during opening and closing movements allows for gravity-driven fail-safe closure.
- Increased rubber seal durability: As the skin plate does not rub against the rubber seals during opening and closing movements, the rubber seals are not subject to the axial forces that cause them to break or wear out, which is the main drawback with traditional “Tainter” gates for bottom outlets.
- Reduced operating forces in the drive system
