HINGED FLOATING INTAKES

Collection floating intakes for dams

Floating intakes are components of water collection facilities in dams in special situations due to their distribution over the different outlet systems. They are used to improve water intake in situations where the reservoir itself does not supply optimum quality water for a variety of reasons.

They are made up of the following main elements:

  • Articulation
  • Intake arm
  • Pontoon
  • Arm raising and positioning system

INHISA designs Floating Intakes according to the following principles:

  • Ensuring the best quality water.
  • Ensuring intake reliability and operation
  • A pump head can be fitted to make use the dead volume in the reservoir (volume below catchment)
